Taos Center for the Arts and Harwood Museum of Art present the Outriders Film Series exploring representations of Black cowboys on the big screen from the 1930s to today.

Set in New Mexico during the years 1912-1915, Thomasine and Bushrod is a Blaxploitation Western about a couple who ride through the Southwest shooting lawmen and sharing the riches with all. This film directed by Gordon Parks, Jr. was intended to be a counterpart to the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde.
