Join the D.H. Lawrence Ranch Initiatives for a talk by two experts on the history of the Ranch: Dr. Audra Bellmore and Principal Architect, Shawn Evans.

The University of New Mexico is embarking on a multi-layered project for stabilization, preservation, and restoration of properties included in the D.H. Lawrence/Kiowa Ranch National Register Historic District. This talk overviews forthcoming plans and some recent activities at the ranch, including the discovery of a long missing oil painting of Frieda Lawrence.

Dr. Audra Bellmore is Associate Professor of Museum Studies and Curator of the John Gaw Meem Archives of Southwestern Architecture. Dr. Bellmore UNM’s Board of Regents’ Historic Preservation Committee, which overseas modifications to historic properties, including the DH Lawrence Ranch.

Shawn Evans is the principal in charge of the Santa Fe office for Atkin Olshin Schade Architects and the director of preservation and cultural projects. He has led master plans for many large and complex historic communities, including the pueblos of Cochiti, Ohkay Owingeh and Santo Domingo.
