Harwood Museum of Art is celebrating 100 years as a center for art and culture in Taos with a Block Party on Ledoux Street!

You are invited Saturday, June 3 from 11am-4pm to kick off the Harwood Centennial with performances, art making, local food vendors and creative activities for all ages. Featuring FREE museum admission ALL DAY for EVERYONE, this is the first chance to experience a new special Centennial exhibition, spanning 100 years of Harwood history.

11:00am      Button Making, Screen Printing with Hart Print Shop, & Sidewalk Chalk begins

11:00am      Sign up for a reader card with Taos Public Library 

12:00pm     Stage kicks-off with remarks by local leaders on the Front Plaza

12:15pm     Concepto Tambor on the main stage

1:00pm       Harwood 100 Open Wall Artist Talks in Scott Gallery

1:30pm       Taos Chamber Music Group presents ETHEL

2:00pm       Taos Opera Institute 

2:30pm       Doc the High Hawk with Miles Bonny

3:30pm       Garry Blackchild with the Ghost Train

 

The Museum’s Ledoux street neighbors, including Barra Vino, Taos Art Supply, Inger Jirby Gallery, Viki Zillioux, and Blumenschein Home and Museum, will join us for this milestone moment hosting activities up and down the block. Sarah Hart of Hart Print Shop will share her screen printing expertise and the Harwood Alliance will raffle off special birthday gifts to the community. Feed your creativity with Harwood Education by designing a special birthday button to take home, and fill up your tummy with local favorites from the Hot Dog Lady’s cart and Loteria Paleteria, or check out the BBQ specials at Barra Vino. Whether you are visiting Taos for the day or have lived here for generations, this day offers something for everyone to celebrate the creative spirit of Taos.
