Join us on the First Friday of every month for after-hours museum access and family-friendly fun! The July 7 evening includes an Jazz 101 Presentation by the John Rangel and trumpet player Robert Beasely, both musicians teach at the New Mexico School for the Arts. Enjoy this unique opportunity to expand your knowledge of the instruments and learn about some the greatest jazz innovators of the past while enjoying the new Centennial Exhibitions! We also have the honor of a visit from The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s mobile creativity studio, Art to G.O., who will host on-the-go art making and creative activities for participants of all ages.

About Art to G.O.
The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s mobile creativity studio, Art to G.O., is coming to a location near you starting in April 2023! We have on-the-go art making and creative activities for participants of all ages and will be visiting libraries, community centers, schools, parks, senior centers, and festivals all year long. Non-profit and public service organizations anywhere in New Mexico can request a FREE visit by filling out the request form below.
About John Rangel
John Rangel is a multi-talented musician of the highest caliber. Jazz pianist, guitarist, composer, producer and educator, Rangel has been a mainstay on the New Mexico jazz scene for more than 15 years. A classically-trained pianist, Rangel cites early influences from J.S. Bach and Stravinsky to Ray Charles, Errol Garner and Oscar Peterson. Over his career he has explored a wide range of musical styles including Jazz, Classical, Film Music, Pop, Hi-Life, Salsa, Reggae, and Calypso. His versatility as a jazz pianist is evident in his work with artists as varied as Nat Adderly, Marcus Printup, Billy Higgins, Sam Rivers, Ravi Coltrane, Pharaoh Saunders, Bobby Shew, Tierney Sutton, Rosemary Clooney– and the full gamut of leading New Mexico jazz musicians.
