Grammy-nominated ensemble Hub New Music returns to Taos to launch its tenth anniversary. The trail-blazing quartet of flute, clarinet, violin and cello is marking the milestone by commissioning new works, including a co-commission with Taos Chamber Music Group by rising star, Sage Shurman (b. 2005). They will also perform previous Hub commissions, Michael Ippolito’s Capriccio, James Diaz’s Lines of acid dreams and Dai Wei’s how the stars vanish . . ., as well as Julius Eastman’s Joy Boy and, with TCMG flutist Nancy Laupheimer, Efrain Amaya’s Pathways.
At the request of Taos Chamber Music Group, masks are encouraged at this program.
