Harwood 100 More: Envisioning the Future

October 20-22, 2023

As part of the Harwood Museum Centennial celebrations, we invite the Taos community to join us for a weekend of programs aimed at sparking community dialogue about how to sustain a vibrant, equitable, and inclusive creative future in Taos. Harwood 100 More: Envisioning the Future has something for everyone.

On Friday, October 20, join Harwood at the TCA for a night of lightning talks by Taos creatives sharing their vision for the future. This free community event is sure to spark new ideas and conversations over food, music, and drinks.

On Saturday, Harwood will host Jaclyn Roessel of Grownup Navajo for a special community workshop designed with Taos creatives and visionaries in mind. Attendees will leave the session with a clear picture of the next steps toward their future vision, a creative anchor image, and a wireframe of values to guide their project or idea.

On Sunday, Harwood will host a Community Day at the museum featuring FREE admission, artmaking in the Education Studio, a talk by Jaclyn Roessel, a panel discussion about the future of Taos’ museums, and a town hall-style presentation of the Harwood’s draft strategic plan. We invite the community to come learn, create, and share their ideas with us!

This program is supported in part by LOR Foundation, by New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, by the National Endowment for the Arts, and by the Institute for Museum and Library Services.
