Valerie Sagan OverlanAdministrative Assistant
Valerie spent most of her career in university and PBS fundraising, working in major gifts, grant writing and corporate development for over 35 years. She worked at four different universities across the country and successfully raised money and secured in-kind equipment for colleges of Education and Engineering. While staying at home to raise her two sons in the 90s, Valerie was the scriptwriter for a national PBS current events program called, Assignment: The World, for fourth-eighth grade classrooms that aired in 48 states. In addition to her work in development and writing, she also painted theater sets for their Brighton, NY public school district and volunteered at the Primate Rescue Center in Nicholasville, Kentucky helping care for 11 chimpanzees and over 40 monkeys.
Coming from an artist family where both her grandfather and mother were artists, Valerie worked for many years with realtors in Rochester, New York to provide pen & ink drawings of homes sold for clients. When not in the office, she enjoys walking/hiking, gardening, reading and time with family.
