Stephanie StewartCollections Associate

Stephanie (Diné/Kiowa) brings her knowledge of art handling and conservation care practices to the Harwood, from Las Cruces, NM. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Museum Conservation from New Mexico State University and an Associate of Fine Arts in Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts. She has experience working behind the scenes in museums in the form of; collections care, museum registration, preventive conservation and exhibition preparation.

She has held positions at the Institute of American Indian Arts collections and at New Mexico State University Art Museum. Most recently, she completed an internship in museum education with the Smithsonian American Art Museum, through the Latino Museum Studies Program.

In her spare time, she likes to take walks and play with her two-year-old blue heeler.
