Enter for a chance to experience Star Axis – a monumental, land-art earthwork designed with the geometry of the stars. This naked-eye observatory offers a rare encounter with the cosmos. Win this extraordinary opportunity to visit Star Axis, the world-renowned sculptural observatory perched atop a mesa in eastern San Miguel County, New Mexico. The raffle will take place in-person at the Harwood Museum of Art Arthur Bell Auditorium or register to join online. You do not need to be present to win.

Not yet open to the public, Star Axis is among the most ambitious land-art projects ever created. Through this raffle, you and five guests will receive special access to this remarkable site. This immersive experience offers a profound connection to art, astronomy, and the vast beauty of the New Mexico landscape.

Your experience begins at the stunning Element House, where you’ll be welcomed by artists Charles Ross and Jill O’Bryan, the visionary creators of Star Axis.

• Travel with the artists to Star Axis to witness a high-desert sunset
• Return to Element House for an intimate dinner with your hosts
• Venture back under the night sky, using astronomers’ flashlights to explore celestial alignments woven into the monument’s design

Raffle Details & Rules

1. Travel dates must be coordinated with Star Axis and trip must take place between June 15 – September 15, 2026; check-in is 4:00 p.m. and checkout is 11:00 a.m. the next day.
2. Drawing will take place May 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM MDT in the auditorium at the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos. A Zoom link will be sent for those who wish to watch remotely. Winner does not need to be present to win.
3. Participants must be 21 years or older.
4. Harwood Museum employees, Harwood Governing Board members, Harwood Alliance Board members, and committee members of the Harwood Museum of Art are not eligible.
5. Travel, lodging beyond the experience night, and all applicable taxes are the responsibility of the winner.
