George RankinOperations Manager

Harwood Staff - George

One of George Rankin’s early memories is taking children’s art lessons at the El Paso Museum of Art. His mother had a lifelong love of the arts and father relished acting in little theater productions. He and his wife are both big fans of Kahlo, Rivera, Orozco, Siqueiros and other Mexican artists. He is thrilled to bring his years of experience in university auxiliary services to support the Harwood Museum’s mission.

George holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas and an MBA from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). His career has taken him from UTEP to Ft. Lewis College in Colorado, to Chico State and Cal Poly Pomona in the Cal State University system as well as four years in Alaska as an Area Manager for one of the Native Corporation. His wife is part of the administrative team at UNM (University of New Mexico) – Taos.

George’s favorite pastime is to hang out on the back deck with his wife, daughter and four cow dogs and gaze at Picuris Peak while preparing outrageous culinary delights in his kitchen. He also loves to fish New Mexico’s beautiful waters and travel.
