The Harwood Alliance is a 501 (c) (3) organization that raises funds for educational programs, collections and exhibitions, and provides volunteer support for the Harwood Museum of Art, a treasure of the Taos community.

The Harwood Museum of Art, founded in 1923, is proud to be the first museum established in Taos and the second-oldest museum in New Mexico. In 1935, the Harwood became a part of the University of New Mexico. Today, the Harwood's seven galleries include the Hispanic Traditions Gallery, the Ellis-Clark Taos Moderns Gallery as well as galleries named in honor of Dorothy and Jack Brandenburg, George E. Foster, Jr., Agnes Martin, Peter and Madeleine Martin, and Joyce and Sherman Scott. They are housed inside a charming adobe Pueblo-Revival historic building, and feature Taos art from the late 1700s to the present, as well as changing exhibitions from locally, nationally, and internationally acclaimed artists. The Harwood is also proud of its rich history as an educational and cultural resource for the Taos community, and continues to host a wide array of classes, workshops, lectures, and concerts for all to enjoy.
