Edward Corbett: Drawings
Gallery: George E. Foster, Jr. Gallery of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs
The Harwood Museum of Art features an exhibition of Edward Corbett drawings on view February 6th through June 8th. Corbett visited Taos during the summers of 1948 - 1950 becoming a full time resident in 1951. Previously he lived in San Francisco and taught at the California School of Fine Arts alongside Clyfford Still, Mark Rothko, Clay Spohn and Richard Diebenkorn. The eighteen works on paper in this exhibition were given to the Museum by the estate of Rosamond Corbett in 2003 and include insights into his thought processes that eventually gave way to the developed paintings he is best known for.
