Hopper Photographs and Paintings
Dennis Hopper Photographs And Paintings
This exhibition demonstrates Hoppers rich narrative ability with a single lens reflex camera as well as paint and mixed media. The silver gelatin prints included in this exhibition include portraits that serve to demonstrate a convincing love- not only of Hoppers craft – but also of the artists he has photographed. Aesthetically Hopper is a significant American photographer. Historically Hopper is a significant visual biographer of the cultural human treasures of our time.
Concurrent exhibition: Hopper Curates: Artwork by Bell, Cooper, Davis, Price, and Stockwell.
This exhibit is part of Taos Summer of Love 2009, a community-wide celebration of the 40th anniversary of Easy Rider, the counterculture classic by Dennis Hopper. The film was partially shot in Taos in the late sixties.
