John Suazo: 30 Year Retrospective
Gallery: Peter & Madeleine Martin Gallery
John Suazo: 30 Year Retrospective opens Friday, June 2nd and will be on view through September 10th, 2006. This exhibition offers an overview of this important contemporary Taos Pueblo Artist's productive 30-year career through some 35 sculptures, including a rare early paper-cast piece; both small and large-scale works in alabaster, marble and other stones; and several new sculptures created specifically for this retrospective. The exhibition and catalogue were made possible through major support from Richard Siegel, the Siegel Foundation, First Community Bank, (Formerly First State Bank,) and Hugh Gibson. Additional sponsors include Centinel Bank, Paul and Jan Johnson, The Sagebrush Inn, The Taos News, The Harwood Museum Alliance, Jon Nichols, Alyce and Larry Frank, The Frank Trust, Jaune Quick To See Smith, Joseph Wrede of Joseph's Table, and the Taos County Chamber of Commerce. A gallery talk with John Suazo is scheduled for Thursday July 13th 7pm.
