Please join us for an (online) insightful overview and discussion of the history of the Santeras Exhibition.

This exhibition and presentation explores the history of women in the devotional arts of New Mexico and Colorado. Historically there is little information that women created saints prior to 1900. It can be assumed that they helped by making clothing for the saints as well as gathering pigments and possibly making such tools as paint brushed. During the past 60 years influential female artists have emerged to change the landscape of the devotional arts. Their efforts have led to a diverse growth in styles, and a proliferation of artists within the Santera community.
