Volunteer Orientation for Art in the Schools

Fern Hogue Mitchell Education Center in the Casey and Nelle Mitchell Art Education Classroom

Volunteers encouraged to apply their love of children and art at the Harwood Museum. Art in the Schools (AIS) is the core program of the Harwood Museum of Art Education Department. AIS, heading into its 11th year, is an innovative multi-visit program that combines inquiry-based learning in the galleries with self-expressive art making in the studio. At the museum, we host two classes per day from local schools.
Join us for an orientation on Thursday, September 21 from 1 to 3pm to learn about the upcoming year’s projects and unit themes for Art in the Schools. Many volunteers offer their time one day per week, or one half day per week, or whatever fits their schedule. Come meet education staff and other seasoned volunteers. Light fare will be offered and art making fun! Please RSVP at education@harwoodmuseum.org or call 575-758-9826 x 108
Thank you! Jayne Schell, Head of Youth Education
