Somos: Davida Singer, John Rangel and Nicole Schmölzer: Naked Romance
In this multimedia event, New York poet/performance artist and former Helene Wurlizter fellow, Davida Singer, reads from her latest collection, naked romance and then some (Aldrich Press, 2015), with a jazz and classical-inflected score composed by award-winning Santa Fe pianist John Rangel, and performed by a live band. Swiss painter and former Helene Wurtlizer fellow Nicole Schmölzer adds a vibrant landscape of color and shapes in constant motion, projected on a large onstage screen. The three art forms interact to explore the yearning for connection in an increasingly disquieted and desensitized world.
Ticket prices are $12 for general and $10 for Museum members and members of SOMOS. Program is general seating. Students 18 and younger have free admission.
