Harwood Museum of Art's 90th Anniversary
It’s 1923: Time Magazine hits newsstands, Warner Brothers is founded, Louis Armstrong makes his first recording and Lucy Harwood, in collaboration with several members of the Taos Society of Artists, forms the Harwood Foundation - thereby establishing the Harwood Museum of Art.
Ninety years later, the Harwood Museum of Art – a part of the University of New Mexico since 1935 - thrives as a community-engaged institution pursuing a vision to “bring Taos arts to the world, and world arts to Taos.”
This fall we honor the visionary spirit of our founders with a series of events and exhibitions celebrating the Harwood’s remarkable history. Click on the links below to learn more about our 90th anniversary celebration!
